Deleting a Quiz
Deleting a quiz permanently removes it from your Quizify account along with all of its associated data. This action cannot be undone, so it is important to understand what will be removed before you proceed — and to consider whether unpublishing is a better option for your situation.
How to Delete a Quiz
Open the Quizify app from your Shopify admin.
Click Manage quiz in the left navigation to view your quiz list.
Find the quiz you want to delete.
Click the delete icon on the quiz card.
A confirmation prompt will appear asking you to confirm the deletion. Read the warning carefully, then click Delete (or Confirm) to proceed.
The confirmation step is there to protect you from accidental deletions. Quizify will not delete the quiz until you confirm. If you are not certain, click Cancel and review your options.
What Is Permanently Deleted
When you delete a quiz, the following are removed from your account and cannot be recovered:
The quiz itself
All questions and answer options
All logic jump rules and conditional branching
All recommendation links (product connections on each answer)
All design settings for that quiz
All quiz-level settings (language, result page configuration, user info form)
All responses received for that quiz
What Happens to Submission Data
All submission data tied to the deleted quiz is also permanently removed. This includes every customer response, email captured, and result recorded for that quiz. This data is not recoverable once the quiz is deleted.
If you need to retain submission data for reporting or compliance purposes, export your submissions before deleting the quiz. You can do this from the Submissions section within the quiz.
What Happens to Embedded Quizzes
If the quiz was embedded on a page in your Shopify store, deleting it in Quizify will cause the quiz to stop rendering on that page. The embed code will remain in your page template, but it will display nothing — no error message, just an empty space.
To keep your store pages tidy, remove the embed code from any pages where the quiz was previously displayed after you delete it.
If app block was used to embed the quiz then there is no updates needed, it will be removed automatically.
Consider Unpublishing Instead
Deleting a quiz is permanent. If there is any chance you might want to use the quiz again — or if you simply want to take it off your store temporarily — unpublishing is a much safer option.
Unpublishing a quiz:
Hides it from your store immediately (customers can no longer access it)
Preserves all quiz data, questions, answers, design settings, and submission history
Allows you to re-publish the quiz at any time with no data loss
To unpublish a quiz, open it in the theme editor and toggle the publish status to Draft or Unpublished for the quiz app block. If you had embeded the code then remove the code from the page.
Only delete a quiz if you are certain you no longer need it and have already exported any submission data you want to keep. For everything else, unpublish.
