Editing a Quiz

You can edit any quiz in Quizify at any time — whether it is a draft you are still building, or a quiz already live on your store. Changes you make are saved and applied as soon as you save, so you always have full control over what your customers see.

Opening the Quiz Editor

All of your quizzes are listed in the Quizzes section of the Quizify app. From here, you can open any quiz for editing.

Open the Quizify app from your Shopify admin.
Click Quizzes in the left navigation to view your quiz list.
Find the quiz you want to edit. You can click directly on the quiz name, or click the Edit button on the quiz card.

This opens the quiz editor for that quiz.

What You Can Edit

Once inside the quiz editor, you have full access to all parts of the quiz. Here is what you can change:

Questions and Answers

Add new questions, edit existing question text, update answer options, remove questions, or change the order of questions and answers. See Adding Questions and Editing Questions and Answers for detailed steps.

Logic and Conditional Branching

Update logic jumps that control which question a customer sees next based on their previous answer. If you add, remove, or rename questions, review your logic rules to make sure they are still pointing to the right places.

Design

Change the visual appearance of your quiz — colours, fonts, button styles, layout, and background. Design changes apply across the whole quiz.

Settings

Update quiz-level settings such as the quiz name, language, result page behaviour, and user information form configuration.

Recommendation Links

Edit the product connections between answers and your Shopify products. This controls what products are recommended at the end of the quiz.

Saving Your Changes

As you work in the quiz editor, save your changes regularly using the Save button. Changes are not applied until you save.

If your quiz is a draft, saved changes update the draft but the quiz remains unpublished and invisible to customers.
If your quiz is published and live, saved changes take effect immediately and are visible to customers straight away. There is no staging environment — saving a published quiz updates it in real time.

Editing a live quiz does not cause any downtime or disruption. The quiz continues to function for customers while you are editing. Your changes go live the moment you click Save.

Previewing Your Changes

Before saving changes to a live quiz, you can use the Preview function to see exactly how the quiz will look and behave from a customer's perspective.

Click the Preview button in the quiz editor toolbar.
A preview of the quiz opens in a new tab or panel.
Walk through the quiz as a customer would to check the flow, question order, answer options, and result page.
When you are satisfied, return to the editor and click Save.

Always preview after making significant changes — especially to logic jumps or recommendation links — to make sure the quiz flows correctly from start to finish.

Frequently asked questions

Can I preview the quiz after editing?

Yes. The Preview button in the quiz editor lets you walk through the full quiz experience as a customer would see it — including questions, logic branching, and the result page. Previewing does not save or publish any changes; it is a read-only view of the current state of your quiz.

Can I undo changes I've made to a quiz?

Quizify does not have a built-in undo history for quiz edits. Once you save, the changes are committed. If you are planning significant structural edits to an important live quiz, consider duplicating the quiz first and editing the copy — that way, you always have the original as a fallback. Do changes I make to a quiz take effect immediately?

It depends on the quiz status. If the quiz is a draft, changes are saved to the draft and are not visible to customers until you publish it. If the quiz is already published and live on your store, changes take effect as soon as you click Save. There is no additional publish step required to apply edits to a live quiz.

Will editing a quiz affect existing submissions?

Editing questions and answers does not change how past submissions are displayed in your analytics. Historic responses are stored as they were recorded at the time the customer took the quiz. However, if you significantly restructure your questions — such as removing questions or reordering them — it may make older submission data harder to interpret in context.
