Adding a Discount Coupon

You can display a discount code on the quiz result page to reward customers for completing the quiz and encourage them to purchase their recommendations. How you add the code depends on the recommendation type your quiz uses.

Before You Start: Create the Discount Code in Shopify

The discount code must exist in your Shopify store before you display it in Quizify. Quizify displays whatever code you enter — it does not create or validate the discount in Shopify for you.

To create a discount code in Shopify:

Go to Shopify admin → Discounts
Create a new discount code with the terms you want (percentage off, fixed amount, free shipping, etc.)
Note the exact discount code (including capitalisation)

Thank You Page Type: Dedicated Discount Code Field

If your quiz uses the Thank You Page recommendation type, there is a dedicated discount code field in the result page settings. Enter the exact discount code there and it will be displayed to customers on the thank you page.

From the Quizify dashboard, click the edit quiz icon next to your quiz to open the quiz editor
Click Result in the left menu
Find the Discount Code field
Enter the exact discount code as it appears in Shopify
Save your settings

Normal, Score, and Type Results: Add the Code to Your Content

For quizzes using Normal, Score, or Type recommendations, there is no dedicated discount code field. To display a discount code, add it as plain text inside your result page content — either in the content area above or below the products (for Normal), or within the content area of each score range or result type (for Score and Type).

No special styling is applied to the code — it appears as part of your written content, exactly as you type it. You can format it however you like, for example:

Use code **QUIZ10** at checkout for 10% off
Your exclusive discount: QUIZ10
As a thank you for completing the quiz, enjoy 10% off with code QUIZ10

For Score and Type quizzes, you can add different discount codes to individual score ranges or result types if you want to offer different incentives per outcome.

Does the Discount Apply Automatically?

No. The discount code is displayed to the customer as text — they need to copy it and enter it at checkout. It does not apply automatically to their cart when they click Add to Cart on the result page.

Use a simple, memorable discount code for quiz takers — for example, "QUIZ10" for 10% off. This reduces friction at checkout even if the customer does not copy the code directly.

Can I show different discount codes for different quiz outcomes?

Yes, for Score and Type quizzes. Each score range or result type has its own content area, so you can write a different discount code into the content of each outcome individually.

Does the discount apply automatically at checkout?

No. The code is shown as text for customers to copy and enter at checkout. It does not apply automatically when a customer adds a product to their cart from the result page.

Does the discount code need to be created in Shopify first?

Yes. Quizify simply displays the code you enter — it does not create or verify the discount in Shopify. If the code you display does not exist in Shopify, customers will not be able to use it at checkout. Always create the discount code in Shopify admin before adding it to your quiz result page.

How do I add a discount code to the quiz result page?

It depends on your recommendation type. If your quiz uses the Thank You Page type, enter the code in the dedicated Discount Code field in the result page settings. If your quiz uses Normal, Score, or Type recommendations, add the code as plain text inside your result content — there is no dedicated field for those types.

Is the discount code styled or highlighted automatically?
