Linking Answers to Collections

You can link a quiz answer to a Shopify collection so that products from that collection appear on the result page. This is a convenient way to recommend a product range using the collection structure you have already set up in Shopify.

When a customer selects answers that are linked to collections, Quizify determines which single collection best matches all of the customer's selected answers and shows products from that collection on the result page.

How to Link an Answer to a Collection

Open your quiz in the Quizify editor
Navigate to the Recommendations tab
Find the answer and click on it
You will see a list of all your Shopify collections — search for the collection by name
Select the collection from the results
Save

Repeat for every answer in your quiz. When a customer completes the quiz, Quizify identifies the single collection that was linked to the most of their selected answers and displays products from that collection on the result page.

How Products from the Collection Load on the Result Page

When a customer completes the quiz, Quizify evaluates which single collection was linked to the most of their selected answers. Products from that winning collection are then fetched from Shopify and displayed on the result page using the standard layout — product image, name, and price — along with any buttons you have enabled such as Add to Cart or View Product.

Only products from one collection are shown, not a combined set from multiple collections.

If the collection contains a large number of products, Quizify may display an initial set and show a Load More button that loads additional products when clicked. You can enable or configure the Load More option in your result page settings.

What Happens If the Collection Is Empty or Deleted in Shopify

If the collection you linked to an answer is empty in Shopify — because no products meet its conditions or all products have been removed — the result page for that answer will show no product recommendations.

If the collection itself is deleted from Shopify, the link in Quizify will break and the answer will no longer produce any results. After deleting or restructuring collections in Shopify, review your quiz answer links to ensure they still point to valid collections.

Collection-based linking works well when:

You have organised your Shopify products into collections that map naturally to quiz outcomes
You want to recommend an entire range without manually listing individual products
Your product catalogue changes regularly and you want your Shopify collection structure to automatically govern what appears in quiz results
You have automatic Shopify collections (based on product conditions) that update dynamically

Example: A quiz answer about outdoor sports links to a "Trail Running" collection. Any product in that collection at the time of the quiz will appear on the result page — no manual updates required.
