Creating a New Quiz

Creating a new quiz in Quizify is straightforward. You choose how you want to start, give your quiz a name, and you are taken directly into the quiz editor to begin building. All configuration questions, recommendation type, design, and more are done inside the editor.

Navigating to Quiz Creation

To create a new quiz, start from the Quizify app inside your Shopify admin.

  1. Open the Quizify app from your Shopify admin sidebar.

  2. Click Quizzes in the left navigation menu. You will see a list of any existing quizzes on your account.

  3. Click the Create Quiz button in the top-right corner of the screen.

This opens the quiz creation screen, where you choose how to start.

Choosing How to Start

Quizify gives you three ways to create a new quiz:

Start from Scratch

Build your quiz entirely from the ground up. You start with a blank quiz and add every question, answer, and setting yourself. This gives you full control over the structure and content.

Start from a Template

Choose a pre-built quiz template as your starting point. Templates include ready-made questions and answer options that you can customise to fit your store. This is a faster way to get started if you are new to Quizify or want a solid foundation to work from.

Import from Another Store

If you run multiple Shopify stores and already have a quiz set up in one of them, you can import it into your current store. This copies the quiz structure across so you do not have to rebuild it from scratch.

Naming Your Quiz

After selecting how to start, give your quiz a name. This name is for your internal reference only — your customers will never see it. Use something descriptive so you can identify the quiz at a glance from your quiz list, for example "Skincare Finder" or "Holiday Gift Guide 2026".

  1. In the Quiz Name field, enter the name you want to use for this quiz.

  2. Click Create Quiz to save and continue.

You are then taken directly into the quiz editor.

Use a naming convention that works for your store, such as including a date or version number (e.g. "Skincare Finder v2") so you can easily track variations.

What Happens Next

After creating the quiz, you land in the quiz editor. Your quiz is saved as a draft and is not visible to customers until you publish it.

From the quiz editor, you can:

  • Add questions and answer options

  • Set the recommendation type (Normal, Score-Based, Type-Based, or Thank You Page)

  • Configure recommendation links between answers and products

  • Set up conditional logic and logic jumps

  • Customise the quiz design

  • Preview the quiz before publishing

You can change the recommendation type at any time from within the quiz editor — you are not locked in at creation.

Next Steps

Now that your quiz is created, here is what to do next:

  • Add questions — Build your question flow from the quiz editor. See Adding Questions to Your Quiz for a step-by-step guide.

  • Set up recommendations — Choose a recommendation type and link answers to products so Quizify can surface the right results for each customer.

  • Configure design — Customise colours, fonts, and layout to match your store brand.

  • Publish your quiz — Once you are happy with the quiz, publish it and embed it on a page in your store.
