No Quiz Submissions Being Received

If customers are taking your quiz but no submissions are appearing in the Quizify dashboard, work through this checklist to identify the cause.


Step 1: Confirm Customers Are Completing the Correct Quiz

If you have multiple quizzes and the embed code on the page points to the wrong quiz, submissions are being recorded under a different quiz.

  1. Open the page in Shopify and check the embed shortcode

  2. In Quizify, verify the shortcode matches the quiz you expect customers to be completing

  3. Check the submissions for all quizzes — the submissions may be appearing under a different quiz


Step 2: Check If the User Information Form Is Blocking Submission

If the user information form has required fields that customers are not completing, they may be unable to submit the quiz at all.

  1. Take the quiz yourself on the live store

  2. At the user information form step, leave the required fields blank and try to proceed

  3. If the form blocks you, customers are likely abandoning at this step

Fix: either make the fields optional or review whether all required fields are necessary.


Step 3: Check for JavaScript Errors

A JavaScript error on the result page or submission step can prevent the submission from being recorded.

  1. Open the quiz on your live store

  2. Open the browser console (F12)

  3. Complete the quiz while watching the console for errors

  4. If a red error appears at the point of submission, note the error message

A JavaScript conflict with another app or theme script may be causing the submission to fail silently.


Step 4: Check for Active Filters in the Submissions Dashboard

The submissions may exist but be hidden by an active filter.

  1. Go to the Quizify submissions dashboard

  2. Check whether any filters are applied (date range, quiz filter, tag filter)

  3. Clear all filters and check again


Step 5: Test the Full Quiz Flow Yourself

The most reliable way to confirm whether submissions are being recorded:

  1. Open the quiz on your live store

  2. Complete the quiz fully — including the user information form if enabled

  3. Go to the submissions dashboard in Quizify

  4. Look for your test submission

If your test submission appears, the quiz is working and the issue may be with specific customer journeys (e.g., customers abandoning at the form step).
