Email Platform Not Receiving Quiz Leads
If your email marketing platform is connected to Quizify but contacts are not appearing after quiz submissions, this guide covers the most common causes specific to email platform integrations.
Most Common Cause: Email Field Not Enabled
Quizify cannot create a contact in your email platform without an email address. If the email field is not enabled in the user information form — or if the form itself is not enabled — no contacts will ever sync.
Check:
Open the quiz in Quizify
Go to User Info Form settings
Confirm the form is enabled
Confirm the email field is added to the form
This single issue accounts for the majority of "no leads in email platform" reports.
Step 2: API Key Invalid or Entered Incorrectly
An incorrect, outdated, or recently regenerated API key will prevent the sync.
Go to Integrations in Quizify and open your email platform settings
Note the API key currently saved
Log in to your email platform and generate a new API key
Paste the new key into Quizify and save
Complete a test submission to verify
Step 3: Wrong List or Audience Selected
If you have multiple lists or audiences in your email platform, check that the correct one is selected in the Quizify integration settings.
Contacts may be arriving in a different list than expected, making it appear as though the sync is not working.
Step 4: Contact Has a Conflicting Status
Some email platforms will not update or add a contact if they have a specific status that prevents it:
Mailchimp: If a contact is unsubscribed in Mailchimp, Quizify will not resubscribe them automatically. The contact exists but is not mailable.
Klaviyo: If a profile already exists with a suppressed status, quiz data may update the profile properties but not change the subscription status.
Active Campaign: If a contact has been explicitly unsubscribed or blocked, they may not be updated.
Check the specific contact's status in your email platform to see if this applies.
Platform-Specific Notes
Mailchimp
Ensure the audience selected in Quizify matches the intended audience
Check whether double opt-in is enabled on the audience — if it is, contacts appear as "pending" until they confirm their email
Unsubscribed contacts will not be resubscribed automatically
Klaviyo
Ensure you are using a private API key (not the public key)
Answer tags sync as profile properties — check the contact's profile properties, not just their list membership
If the contact already exists, check whether quiz data updated their profile
Brevo (Sendinblue)
Ensure the API key has write access to contacts
Contacts may have a "Blacklisted" status in Brevo that prevents updates
Active Campaign
Both the API key and the API URL are required — check that both are entered correctly
The API URL should include your account subdomain (e.g.,
youraccountname.activehosted.com)
Omnisend
Confirm the API key is the correct type with contact write permissions
