Connecting Google Analytics to Quizify lets you track quiz-related events — such as quiz starts, question views, completions, and add-to-cart actions — alongside your other store data. This gives you a fuller picture of how your quiz contributes to customer journeys.

Where to Find the Google Analytics Integration in Quizify

  1. Open Quizify from your Shopify admin
  2. Go to Integrations in the main navigation
  3. Find Google Analytics in the list
  4. Click Connect or Set Up

Entering Your GA Measurement ID or Tracking ID

Quizify supports both GA4 (Google Analytics 4) and Universal Analytics (UA): For GA4:
  • Your Measurement ID starts with G- (e.g., G-XXXXXXXXXX)
  • Find it in Google Analytics under Admin → Data Streams → your web stream → Measurement ID
For Universal Analytics:
  • Your Tracking ID starts with UA- (e.g., UA-XXXXXXXX-X)
  • Find it in Google Analytics under Admin → Property Settings → Tracking ID

Google ended processing for Universal Analytics properties in July 2023. If you have not already migrated to GA4, consider doing so as UA data is no longer updated.

  1. Enter your Measurement ID (GA4) or Tracking ID (UA) in the Google Analytics field in Quizify
  2. Save the settings

What Events Are Tracked

Once connected, Quizify sends the following events to Google Analytics:
  • Quiz Start — fired when a customer begins the first question
  • Question View — fired each time a customer views a question
  • Quiz Complete — fired when a customer reaches the result page
  • Add to Cart — fired when a customer clicks an add-to-cart button on the result page
  • Result Page View — fired when the result page loads
These events appear in Google Analytics under Events (GA4) or Behaviour → Events (Universal Analytics).

How to Find Quiz Event Data in Google Analytics

In GA4:
  1. Go to Reports → Engagement → Events
  2. Look for event names related to Quizify (e.g., quiz_start, quiz_complete)
  3. Click an event to view detailed data
In Universal Analytics:
  1. Go to Behaviour → Events → Overview
  2. Filter by event category or label for Quizify events

Testing That Events Are Firing

To verify events are being sent:
  1. Open your quiz on your live store
  2. Open Google Analytics in a separate tab — go to Reports → Realtime
  3. Complete the quiz step by step
  4. Watch the Realtime Events report to confirm each event appears as you progress through the quiz
If events are not appearing in real time, double-check that the Measurement ID was entered correctly and that the integration is saved.
