Enabling the Quizify App Embed

Before any Quizify quiz can appear on your Shopify store, you need to enable the Quizify app embed in the Shopify Theme Editor. This is a one-time step that activates the Quizify script on your storefront. Without it, the quiz will not display — even if you have pasted the embed code onto a page.

Why This Step Is Required

Shopify requires all apps that add functionality to a store's frontend to be activated through the Theme Editor's App Embeds section. This is a Shopify security and performance feature that gives store owners control over which apps are active in their theme.

Until you toggle Quizify on in App Embeds, the quiz script is not loaded on your storefront, and any embed codes you have added to pages will not render a quiz.

How to Enable the App Embed

Log in to your Shopify Admin
Go to Online Store → Themes
Click Customise next to your active theme
In the theme editor, look for the App Embeds section — it is typically found in the left-hand sidebar at the bottom, or in a dedicated "Apps" icon in the toolbar
Find Quizify in the list of available app embeds
Toggle the Quizify switch to the on position
Click Save in the theme editor

The Quizify script is now active in your theme.

You must save the theme editor after toggling the embed on. If you close the editor without saving, the change will not take effect.

How to Verify the App Embed Is Active

After saving:

Navigate to a page on your live store where you have placed a quiz embed code (or open a page in Preview)
If the app embed is active and the embed code is correctly placed, the quiz should render on the page
If the quiz still does not show, check that the embed code is correctly pasted — see the Copying and Using the Quiz Embed Code guide

What Happens If You Skip This Step

If the app embed is not enabled:

The quiz will not appear on any page of your store
No error message is shown to visitors — they simply see the page without the quiz
The embed code you paste into a page will have no visible effect
