# Billing and Payment Issues Source: https://store-docs.quizify.io/account-and-plans/billing/billing-and-payment-issues Guide to resolving Quizify billing issues — unexpected charges, failed payments, overage charges, and how Quizify billing works through Shopify's app billing system. Quizify billing is managed through Shopify's app billing system — not directly through Quizify. This guide explains how billing works and how to resolve common billing issues. *** ## How Quizify Billing Works Quizify charges are processed by **Shopify's app billing system**. This means: * You are charged through your Shopify account, not a separate Quizify account * Quizify charges appear on your **Shopify invoice** alongside other app charges * Payment is taken from the payment method on file with your Shopify account * Billing cycles align with your Shopify billing cycle You cannot pay for Quizify separately from your Shopify account — all charges flow through Shopify. *** ## Where to View Quizify Charges 1. Go to your Shopify admin 2. Navigate to **Settings → Billing** 3. Under **Bills** or **Invoices**, select the relevant billing period 4. Quizify charges appear as line items within your Shopify invoice *** ## Unexpected Charges ### Overage Charges The most common unexpected charge is an overage fee — additional charges for quiz submissions beyond your plan's included limit. If your quiz received more submissions than your plan includes, you are charged per additional submission at the overage rate for your plan. To avoid overage charges: monitor your submission usage in Quizify and upgrade your plan before you approach the limit. ### Plan Change Charges Upgrading mid-billing-cycle may result in a pro-rated charge for the remainder of the cycle at the new plan rate. *** ## Failed Payments If a payment for Quizify fails: * Shopify will typically retry the payment automatically * You may receive an email notification from Shopify about the failed payment * If the payment continues to fail, Shopify may pause the app until the payment issue is resolved * Check and update your payment method in Shopify admin → Settings → Billing → Payment methods A failed payment can cause your quiz to stop working if Shopify pauses the app. Resolve the payment issue promptly to restore access. *** ## Refund Requests Quizify charges are processed through Shopify's billing system. Refund requests should be directed to Quizify support — not Shopify support. Quizify's refund eligibility depends on the circumstances: * **Accidental upgrades:** Contact Quizify support promptly * **Overage charges:** Generally not refundable, but contact support if you believe the charges are incorrect *** ## How to Cancel Quizify Cancelling Quizify stops future billing but does not automatically delete your data: 1. Go to Shopify admin → **Apps** 2. Find Quizify in your installed apps 3. Click **Delete** or **Uninstall** 4. Confirm the uninstall After uninstalling, you will no longer be billed for Quizify. Note that uninstalling may affect whether your quiz data (quizzes, submissions) is retained — contact Quizify support before uninstalling if you want to preserve your data. # Upgrading or Downgrading Your Plan Source: https://store-docs.quizify.io/account-and-plans/billing/upgrading-or-downgrading-your-plan How to upgrade or downgrade your Quizify plan from within Shopify admin, what happens to existing quizzes and data when you change plans, and billing implications. You can change your Quizify plan at any time from within your Shopify admin. This guide explains how to change plans and what to expect when you upgrade or downgrade. *** ## How to Initiate a Plan Change 1. Open Quizify from your Shopify admin 2. Go to the **Pricing** or **Plans page** 3. Review the available plans 4. Click **Upgrade** or **Switch to this plan** on the plan you want to move to 5. You will be redirected to a Shopify billing confirmation screen 6. Confirm the plan change in Shopify The change takes effect immediately after confirmation. *** ## Upgrading Your Plan When you upgrade to a higher plan: * **New features are available immediately** — you can access any features included in the new plan right away * **Billing changes at the next cycle** — depending on Shopify's billing model, you may be charged a pro-rated amount for the remainder of the current billing cycle or the new price will apply from the next cycle. Shopify's billing screen will show the exact charges. * **Existing quizzes and data are unchanged** — all quizzes, submissions, and settings are preserved *** ## Downgrading Your Plan When you downgrade to a lower plan: **Features may become inaccessible.** If your current plan includes features not available on the lower plan — such as marketing integrations, Shopify Customer Integration, custom fonts, or higher submission limits — those features will no longer be accessible after the downgrade. **Existing quiz data is preserved.** Your quizzes, submissions, and settings are not deleted when you downgrade. However, you may not be able to edit or access features that require a higher plan. **Plan-gated features in quizzes.** If a quiz uses a feature not available on the lower plan (such as Score and Type Recommendations, Answer Tags, or per-funnel integration settings), that configuration may become inactive or hidden after the downgrade. Review your quizzes for any plan-specific features before downgrading. **Submission limits.** If your usage exceeds the lower plan's submission limit, you may be charged overage fees or the quiz may be paused, depending on the lower plan's terms. *** ## What Happens to Quizzes Built Using Plan-Gated Features If you downgrade and a quiz uses a feature not available on the lower plan: * That feature or configuration may be deactivated or hidden from the quiz flow * The quiz itself is not deleted, but it may not function as intended until you upgrade again Review any quizzes that use plan-gated features before downgrading. *** ## Confirming the Plan Change in Shopify All Quizify billing is handled through Shopify. After selecting a new plan in Quizify, Shopify will show a billing confirmation screen. Review the charges shown and confirm to complete the plan change. Your new plan and its charges will appear in your Shopify invoice history under Billing. # Understanding Submission Limits Source: https://store-docs.quizify.io/account-and-plans/plans-and-limits/understanding-submission-limits Explains how Quizify submission limits work — what counts as a submission, what happens when the limit is reached, and how overage charges apply on paid plans. Each Quizify plan includes a submission limit — the maximum number of quiz completions you can receive per billing period. This guide explains what counts as a submission, what happens when you reach your limit, and how to track your usage. *** ## What Counts as a Submission A **submission** is counted each time a customer completes your quiz and reaches the result page. This includes: * Any quiz on your store * Whether or not the customer provided their email address * Whether or not the customer added a product to the cart Customers who start the quiz but abandon it before reaching the result page are **not** counted as submissions. *** ## How Submission Limits Are Counted Submissions are counted on a **monthly** basis, aligned to your billing cycle. The count resets at the start of each new billing period. If you have multiple quizzes on your store, all submissions across all quizzes count toward the same limit. *** ## What Happens When You Reach the Limit The behaviour when you hit the submission limit depends on your plan: **Free plan:** The quiz may stop accepting new completions — customers who take the quiz may not be able to reach the result page. **Paid plans (Starter, Growth, Pro, Plus):** Paid plans use a usage-based overage model. When you exceed the included submissions, you are charged an overage rate per additional submission (Starter: $0.05, Growth: $0.04, Pro: $0.03, Plus: $0.02). Your quiz continues to accept responses — it does not stop working.

The exact overage rate and whether your plan uses hard limits or overage billing depends on your specific Quizify version and plan. Check your plan details in Quizify for the precise terms.

## How to View Current Submission Usage 1. Open Quizify from your Shopify admin 2. Go to **Settings** or **Account** 3. Look for a **Usage** or **Billing** section 4. Your current submission count for the billing period is displayed here Monitoring your usage helps you anticipate when you are approaching the limit and whether an upgrade is needed. # How Quizzes Display on Desktop and Mobile Source: https://store-docs.quizify.io/embedding-and-display/display-behavior/how-quizzes-display-on-desktop-and-mobile Explains how Quizify quiz layout adapts between desktop and mobile — covering key layout differences, column behaviour, image sizing, and device-specific considerations. Quizify quizzes are built to work on all screen sizes. The quiz layout adapts automatically between desktop and mobile, adjusting column counts, image sizing, and navigation placement so the quiz is usable regardless of the device a customer is using. *** ## How the Quiz Layout Responds to Screen Size Quizify uses responsive design principles. When the available screen width narrows — such as on a mobile device — the quiz layout adjusts: * Multi-column answer grids collapse to fewer columns * Images scale proportionally to fit the narrower width * Navigation buttons repositioned for thumb-friendly access * Text sizes adjust to remain readable at smaller sizes These adjustments happen automatically — you do not need to create a separate mobile version of your quiz. *** ## Column Count Differences On desktop, grid layouts typically display three or four answer columns per row. On mobile: * A four-column grid typically collapses to two columns * A three-column grid may collapse to two or one column * A two-column grid may remain at two columns or collapse to one, depending on screen width The exact behaviour depends on the column count you have set and the width of the device screen. Test in Preview using the mobile view to confirm the layout looks correct. *** ## Image Sizing and Proportions on Mobile Answer images and question images are scaled to fit the narrower mobile width. Images that look proportional on desktop may appear taller or more cropped on mobile, depending on the image dimensions and layout settings.

Use square or near-square answer images for the most consistent display across desktop and mobile.

## Navigation Placement Differences On desktop, navigation buttons (Next, Back) often appear at the bottom of the answer list. On mobile, they may be repositioned to be more easily accessible — particularly if you have the sticky navigation setting enabled, which keeps them visible as the customer scrolls. *** ## Settings That Can Be Configured Per Device Some settings in Quizify are worth reviewing with mobile in mind: * **Layout column count** — While the quiz auto-adjusts column counts, review your layout settings to ensure the desktop configuration produces a sensible mobile result # Mobile Responsiveness Source: https://store-docs.quizify.io/embedding-and-display/display-behavior/mobile-responsiveness Covers how Quizify quizzes are designed to work on all mobile devices — responsive layout, touch interaction, mobile browser compatibility, and troubleshooting tips. Quizify quizzes are built to work smoothly on mobile devices. The quiz layout is fully responsive, touch interactions are supported, and the quiz has been tested across major mobile browsers. *** ## Quizify's Responsive Design Approach Quizify uses a mobile-first responsive design approach. The quiz layout is built to adapt to the screen width of the device viewing it. At small screen widths, the quiz: * Uses a single-column or two-column layout for answers * Scales all images and content to fit the narrower width * Adjusts font sizes for readability on small screens * Repositions navigation elements for thumb-accessible use These adjustments happen automatically — no separate mobile configuration is required. *** ## Touch Interaction Quizify quizzes are fully touch-compatible: * **Selecting answers** — Customers tap on answer cards or options to select them, the same as clicking on a desktop * **Navigation** — The Next and Back buttons are tappable and sized appropriately for touch * **Scrolling** — If a question has many answer options, customers can scroll through them normally * **Swipe** — The quiz does not use swipe gestures for navigation — customers use the Next and Back buttons *** ## Mobile Browser Compatibility Quizify quizzes are tested and supported on the major mobile browsers: * **iOS Safari** — The primary browser on iPhone and iPad * **Chrome on Android** — The most common browser on Android devices * **Samsung Internet** — Common on Samsung Galaxy devices * **Firefox Mobile** — Available on both iOS and Android If a customer reports the quiz not working on a specific browser, ask them to try Chrome or Safari as a first step. *** ## Common Mobile Display Issues and Fixes ### Quiz appears very small or does not fill the screen This can happen if the Shopify page the quiz is embedded on does not have a proper mobile viewport meta tag. Check that your Shopify theme includes `` in the theme's HTML. Most modern Shopify themes include this by default. ### Answer images appear too large on mobile Use square or near-square images for answer options to ensure consistent sizing across screen widths. Tall portrait images may overflow their containers on narrow screens. ### Popup quiz does not appear on mobile Confirm that the popup delay is long enough for the page to fully load on a mobile connection. Very short delays (1–2 seconds) may trigger the popup before the page is interactive on slower mobile connections. *** ## Tips for Testing Your Quiz on Mobile * Use the Preview function in the Quizify editor and switch to the mobile view * Open the live quiz on your own mobile phone and walk through it completely * Test on both iOS and Android if possible * Check the quiz on both Wi-Fi and a mobile data connection — mobile data connections may be slower and reveal loading issues * Ask a colleague or friend to test on a different device and browser # Where You Can Place a Quiz on Your Store Source: https://store-docs.quizify.io/embedding-and-display/display-behavior/where-you-can-place-a-quiz-on-your-store Overview of all placement options for a Quizify quiz — embedded pages, popup triggered by a link or button, automatic popup, and result widget — with guidance on which suits different goals. Quizify gives you several ways to present a quiz to customers on your Shopify store. Each placement has different characteristics and suits different use cases. *** ## Placement Options Overview ### 1. Embedded on a Page **What it is:** The quiz renders inline as part of a page — product page, homepage, collection page, blog post, or custom page. The recommended method is the **app block**, which can be added in the Shopify Theme Editor without any coding. Alternatively, the HTML embed code can be pasted directly into a page content editor or theme file. **Best for:** * Product pages where you want to help customers choose a variant or complementary product * A dedicated quiz page you want customers to navigate to directly * Homepages where the quiz is a featured section * Blog post pages where you want to engage readers with a relevant recommendation experience **Pros:** * Always visible to any visitor who lands on that page * No interruption to the browsing experience * App block method requires no coding **Cons:** * Requires the customer to navigate to the page to see the quiz * Does not proactively engage visitors on other pages *** ### 1b. Menu or Button Link (Popup on Click) **What it is:** A direct link (`#quizify-pop-YOUR_QUIZ_ID&size=fullsize`) is added to a navigation menu item, hero button, or any link on the store. When clicked, the quiz opens as a popup overlay. Size can be set to fullsize, medium, or small. **Best for:** * Navigation menus — so the quiz is accessible from anywhere on the store * Call-to-action buttons on the homepage or product pages * Any situation where you want the quiz triggered by a click rather than visible on the page **Pros:** * No embed code needed — just a link URL * Works from any page via the menu * Popup keeps customers on their current page **Cons:** * Customers must click to open — not visible by default * Less prominent than an inline embedded quiz *** ### 2. Popup **What it is:** The quiz appears as a floating overlay on one or more pages of your store, triggered automatically after a time delay. **Best for:** * Proactively engaging visitors who are browsing without specifically seeking out a quiz * Lead generation on high-traffic pages * Stores that want the quiz to appear without requiring the customer to navigate to a specific page **Pros:** * Reaches customers who may not find the quiz on their own * Can be targeted to specific pages or shown across the whole store * Good for lead capture and email opt-ins **Cons:** * Can feel intrusive if timing and frequency are not well configured * Customers may dismiss it before engaging *** ### 3. Result Widget **What it is:** An embeddable element that shows returning customers their saved quiz results — without them needing to retake the quiz. **Best for:** * Product pages where returning customers should see their personalised recommendations * Customer account pages as a "My Recommendations" section * Re-engagement: reminding customers what was recommended to them previously **Pros:** * Personalises the shopping experience for returning customers * Reduces friction — customers do not need to retake the quiz * Works across devices for logged-in customers **Cons:** * Only useful for customers who have previously taken the quiz * Invisible to new visitors # Adding a Quiz to a Collection Page Source: https://store-docs.quizify.io/embedding-and-display/embed-quiz/adding-a-quiz-to-a-collection-page How to add a Quizify quiz to a Shopify collection page — using the app block for no-code inline embedding in the theme editor, or the direct link to open it as a popup from a button. A quiz placed on a collection page helps customers navigate a product range and find the specific item that suits them — rather than scrolling through all products without guidance. This works well for large collections where choice can be overwhelming. *** ## Why a Collection Page Quiz Works Well When a customer lands on a collection page, they are interested in that category but may not know which product is right for them. A quiz placed at the top of the collection guides them to the best match within the range — making the browsing experience more purposeful and increasing the chance of a purchase. *** ## Method 1: App Block (Recommended) The app block is the easiest way to add a quiz inline on a collection page. No embed code or HTML editing required. 1. Go to **Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes → Customise** 2. In the theme editor, navigate to a **Collection** page — use the page type dropdown to select a collection 3. Click **Add section** or **Add block** within the collection template 4. Find and select the **Quizify** app block 5. In the block settings, enter your **Quiz ID** (found on the Publish page of your quiz editor — open the quiz editor and click the **Publish** tab) 6. Drag the block above the product grid — so customers see it before they begin browsing 7. Click **Save** *** ## Method 2: Direct Link (Open as Popup from a Button) If you prefer the quiz to open as a popup when a customer clicks a button — rather than appearing inline — use the direct link method. Set the button URL to: \#quizify-pop-YOUR\_QUIZ\_ID\&size=fullsize Replace `YOUR_QUIZ_ID` with the quiz ID from the Publish page of your quiz editor. You can also use `medium` or `small` instead of `fullsize` to change the popup size. In the Shopify Theme Editor, find the button or call-to-action element on the collection page and set its link to the direct link above. See: Opening a Quiz via a Link or Button *** ## Targeting a Specific Collection vs. All Collection Pages When you add an app block to the collection template in the theme editor, it typically applies to all collection pages that use that template — not just one specific collection. To show a quiz only on a specific collection page: * Check if your theme allows creating separate collection templates. If so, create a template for that collection and add the quiz block only to that template. * Use a **Custom Liquid** section with a conditional check: `{% if collection.handle == 'your-collection-handle' %}` to show the quiz on only that collection. *** ## Recommended Placement The quiz typically works best placed above the product grid — so customers see it immediately when they arrive on the collection page, before they begin scrolling through products. # Adding a Quiz to a Product Page Source: https://store-docs.quizify.io/embedding-and-display/embed-quiz/adding-a-quiz-to-a-product-page How to add a Quizify quiz to a Shopify product page — using the app block for no-code inline embedding, or the direct link to open the quiz as a popup from a button. Placing a quiz on a product page helps customers choose the right variant before adding to cart. For products with multiple variants — sizes, shades, strengths, or configurations — a quiz on the product page can guide customers to the right option without leaving the page. *** ## Why a Product Page Quiz Is Effective Customers landing on a product page are often close to purchasing but uncertain about which option to choose. A short quiz placed on the product page answers that question in context — reducing hesitation and increasing confidence. Common uses include: * Shade or tone finders for beauty and cosmetics products * Size guides for clothing, footwear, or accessories * Strength or dosage selectors for supplements * Variant finders for any product with multiple options *** ## Method 1: App Block (Recommended) The app block is the easiest way to add a quiz inline on a product page. No embed code or HTML editing required. 1. Go to **Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes → Customise** 2. In the theme editor, navigate to a **Product** page (select a product from the dropdown) 3. Click **Add section** or **Add block** within the product page template 4. Find and select the **Quizify** app block 5. In the block settings, enter your **Quiz ID** (found on the Publish page of your quiz editor — open the quiz editor and click the **Publish** tab) 6. Drag the block to your preferred position — typically below the product description 7. Click **Save** > **Note:** Sections and blocks added in the theme editor apply to the product page template — they may appear on all product pages that use that template. If you only want the quiz on a specific product page, check if your theme supports product-specific templates. *** ## Method 2: Direct Link (Open as Popup from a Button) If you want customers to trigger the quiz by clicking a button on the product page — rather than seeing it inline — use the direct link method. In the Shopify Theme Editor, find the button or call-to-action element on the product page and set its link to the direct link above. See: Opening a Quiz via a Link or Button *** ## Targeting a Specific Product vs. All Product Pages If you want the quiz to appear on all product pages in your store, adding an app block or custom section to the product template is the right approach. If you want the quiz to appear on only one specific product page: * Some themes allow you to create separate templates for specific products — create a template for that product and add the quiz block only to that template * Use conditional logic in a Custom Liquid section: `{% if product.handle == 'your-product-handle' %}` to show the quiz only for that product *** ## Recommended Placement The quiz typically works best when placed: * Below the product description and images * Above or below the reviews section * In a clearly labelled section such as "Find Your Perfect Shade" or "Which size is right for you?" # Adding a Quiz to Your Homepage Source: https://store-docs.quizify.io/embedding-and-display/embed-quiz/adding-a-quiz-to-your-homepage How to add a Quizify quiz to your Shopify homepage — using the app block for no-code inline embedding in the theme editor, or the direct link to open the quiz as a popup from a hero button. Placing a quiz on your homepage lets you engage visitors immediately and guide them toward the right products from the start of their shopping journey. It works well as a prominent section below the hero banner, or triggered as a popup from a call-to-action button. *** ## Method 1: App Block (Recommended) The app block is the easiest way to add a quiz inline on the homepage. No embed code or HTML editing required. 1. Go to **Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes** 2. Click **Customise** next to your active theme 3. The theme editor opens on your homepage by default 4. In the left-hand panel, click **Add section** 5. Find and select the **Quizify** app block 6. In the block settings, enter your **Quiz ID** (found on the Publish page of your quiz editor — open the quiz editor and click the **Publish** tab) 7. Use the drag handle to move the section to the position on the homepage where you want the quiz to appear 8. Click **Save** *** ## Method 2: Direct Link (Open as Popup from a Button) If you want customers to trigger the quiz by clicking a homepage button — for example, a hero banner call-to-action — rather than seeing it inline, use the direct link method. In the Shopify Theme Editor, find the button or call-to-action element on the homepage and set its link to the direct link above. See: Opening a Quiz via a Link or Button *** ## Positioning the Quiz Section on the Homepage You can place the quiz section anywhere on the homepage — before or after any existing section. Common placements include: * **Below the hero banner** — High visibility for all visitors who scroll past the main image * **As the hero section itself** — If the quiz is the primary call to action for your store * **Mid-page** — Between a featured collection and a promotional banner, for visitors who need more guidance before browsing Drag the section in the theme editor to find the position that works best with your existing homepage layout. # Adding a Quiz Using the App Block Source: https://store-docs.quizify.io/embedding-and-display/embed-quiz/adding-a-quiz-using-the-app-block How to add a Quizify quiz to a Shopify page section using the app block in the theme editor — no coding required. Enter the quiz ID and the quiz renders directly in that section. The Quizify app block lets you add a quiz directly to any section on your Shopify store without any embed code or HTML editing. It is the recommended no-code method for embedding a quiz as part of a page layout — on the homepage, product pages, collection pages, or any other theme-managed page. *** ## How the App Block Works When you add the Quizify app block to a section in the Shopify Theme Editor, you simply enter your quiz ID in the block settings, and the quiz renders inline on the page. There is no code to paste — the block handles everything. *** ## Finding Your Quiz ID Before adding the app block, get your quiz ID from the Publish page: 1. From the Quizify dashboard, click the **edit quiz** icon next to your quiz 2. Click the **Publish** tab at the top of the editor 3. Your quiz ID is displayed on this page — copy it *** ## Adding the App Block in the Theme Editor 1. Go to **Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes → Customise** 2. Navigate to the page where you want the quiz to appear (homepage, product page, collection page, etc.) 3. In the left-hand panel, click **Add section** or, within an existing section, click **Add block** 4. Find and select the **Quizify** app block from the list 5. In the block settings panel on the left, enter your **Quiz ID** 6. Drag the block to the position on the page where you want the quiz to appear 7. Click **Save** The quiz will now render inline on the page in the position you set. *** ## Which Pages Support the App Block The app block can be added to any page type in the Shopify Theme Editor, including: * Homepage * Product pages * Collection pages * Custom pages (if your theme supports app blocks on those templates) * Blog post pages (if your theme supports app blocks on those templates) # Enabling the Quizify App Embed Source: https://store-docs.quizify.io/embedding-and-display/embed-quiz/enabling-the-quizify-app-embed Critical first step: how to activate the Quizify app embed block in the Shopify Theme Editor — required for any quiz to display on your storefront. Before any Quizify quiz can appear on your Shopify store, you need to enable the Quizify app embed in the Shopify Theme Editor. This is a one-time step that activates the Quizify script on your storefront. Without it, the quiz will not display — even if you have pasted the embed code onto a page. *** ## Why This Step Is Required Shopify requires all apps that add functionality to a store's frontend to be activated through the Theme Editor's App Embeds section. This is a Shopify security and performance feature that gives store owners control over which apps are active in their theme. Until you toggle Quizify on in App Embeds, the quiz script is not loaded on your storefront, and any embed codes you have added to pages will not render a quiz. *** ## How to Enable the App Embed 1. Log in to your **Shopify Admin** 2. Go to **Online Store → Themes** 3. Click **Customise** next to your active theme 4. In the theme editor, look for the **App Embeds** section — it is typically found in the left-hand sidebar at the bottom, or in a dedicated "Apps" icon in the toolbar 5. Find **Quizify** in the list of available app embeds 6. Toggle the **Quizify** switch to the on position 7. Click **Save** in the theme editor The Quizify script is now active in your theme.

You must save the theme editor after toggling the embed on. If you close the editor without saving, the change will not take effect.

## How to Verify the App Embed Is Active After saving: 1. Navigate to a page on your live store where you have placed a quiz embed code (or open a page in Preview) 2. If the app embed is active and the embed code is correctly placed, the quiz should render on the page 3. If the quiz still does not show, check that the embed code is correctly pasted — see the Copying and Using the Quiz Embed Code guide *** ## What Happens If You Skip This Step If the app embed is not enabled: * The quiz will not appear on any page of your store * No error message is shown to visitors — they simply see the page without the quiz * The embed code you paste into a page will have no visible effect This is one of the most common reasons a quiz does not show on a Shopify store after installation. # Configuring Popup Delay and Display Frequency Source: https://store-docs.quizify.io/embedding-and-display/popup-display/configuring-popup-delay-and-display-frequency How to set the time delay before the quiz popup appears and configure how often it shows to the same visitor — immediately or after a delay, and never again or after a set period. Two key settings control the timing and repetition of your quiz popup: the delay (how long after the page loads before the popup appears) and the frequency (how often the same visitor sees it). Getting these right balances engagement with avoiding annoyance. *** ## How to Access These Settings 1. From Quizify, open the quiz configured as a popup 2. Click **Edit Quiz** 3. Go to the **Publish** tab 4. Scroll to the **Popup Quiz** section The **Delay** and **Frequency** settings are both found here. *** ## Popup Delay The delay setting controls whether the popup appears the moment the page loads or waits for a set amount of time first. ### Options * **Immediately** — The popup appears as soon as the page finishes loading, with no wait. * **After a delay** — The popup waits for a number of seconds you specify before appearing. ### How to Set the Delay 1. In the **Popup Quiz** section, find the **Delay** setting 2. Choose **Immediately** or enter the number of seconds to wait 3. Save ### Recommended Delay A delay of 5 to 10 seconds works well for most stores. This gives visitors a moment to land on the page before the popup is introduced.

Avoid showing the popup immediately if possible. A visitor who has just arrived is more likely to dismiss it before engaging with your store.

## Display Frequency Frequency controls how often the same visitor sees the popup after they have already seen it once. ### Options * **Never show again** — Once a visitor has seen the popup, it will not appear to them again. * **Show again after a set time** — The popup is suppressed for a period you specify (for example, 7 days), then it may appear again on their next visit after that period. ### How to Set the Frequency 1. In the **Popup Quiz** section, find the **Frequency** setting 2. Choose **Never** or select a time period after which the popup should reappear 3. Save

Quizify uses browser-based storage to track whether a visitor has already seen the popup. If a visitor clears their browser data or switches to a different device, the popup may appear to them again even if the frequency setting would otherwise suppress it.

## Testing Your Settings After configuring delay and frequency: 1. Open a private or incognito browser window to simulate a fresh visitor session 2. Visit your Shopify store and navigate to the page where the popup is configured 3. Wait the number of seconds you set as the delay and confirm the popup appears 4. Dismiss the popup, then revisit the same page in the same incognito window and confirm it does not reappear if frequency is set to Never # Triggering the Popup on Specific Pages Source: https://store-docs.quizify.io/embedding-and-display/popup-display/triggering-the-popup-on-specific-pages How to configure the Quizify quiz popup to appear only on a specific page or on all pages of your store — using the Select Page setting in the Popup Quiz section of the Publish tab. By default, the quiz popup can be shown on all pages of your store. You can restrict it to a specific page so the popup only appears to visitors who are most likely to find it relevant. *** ## How to Access Page Targeting 1. From Quizify, open the quiz configured as a popup 2. Click **Edit Quiz** 3. Go to the **Publish** tab 4. Scroll to the **Popup Quiz** section 5. Find the **Select Page** setting *** ## Page Targeting Options ### All Pages Select **All Pages** to show the popup on every page of your store where the trigger conditions are met. This is the broadest option and works well for general engagement or lead capture quizzes. ### Specific Page Select a specific page to limit the popup to a single location on your store. The popup will only appear when a visitor is on that page. To target a specific page: 1. In the **Select Page** field, choose the option to target a specific page 2. Enter or select the page you want to target 3. Save

Targeting a specific page works well when the quiz is closely related to that page's content — for example, showing a skincare quiz only on your skincare collection page.

## Testing Page Targeting After saving your page targeting setting: 1. Open a private or incognito browser window 2. Navigate to the specific page you have targeted 3. Wait for the popup delay and confirm the popup appears 4. Navigate to a different page on your store and confirm the popup does not appear there # Result Widget Source: https://store-docs.quizify.io/embedding-and-display/result-widget/result-widget How to add the Result Widget app block to your Shopify store so returning customers can view their past quiz questions, answers, and recommended products without retaking the quiz. The Result Widget lets returning customers view their past quiz responses directly on your store — without needing to take the quiz again. It shows them the questions they answered, the answers they gave, and a link to their result page with the products recommended for them. This gives customers a quick way to revisit and buy from their personalised recommendations on any future visit. *** ## How It Works When a customer visits a page where the Result Widget is placed: * If they are **logged in to their customer account**, the widget automatically retrieves their past quiz responses based on their account email and displays them. * If they are **not logged in**, the widget shows an email input field. Once the customer enters the email they used when taking the quiz, the widget loads their past responses and results. The widget displays: * The questions from the quiz and the answers the customer selected * A link to their result page, where they can view their recommended products and purchase them *** ## Adding the Result Widget to Your Store The Result Widget is added as an **app block** through the Shopify theme editor. You can place it on any page of your store. ### Step 1: Get Your Quiz ID Before adding the app block, you need the Quiz ID for the quiz you want the widget to display results for. 1. Open the quiz in Quizify 2. Click **Edit Quiz** 3. Go to the **Publish** tab 4. Find and copy the **Quiz ID** shown there ### Step 2: Add the App Block 1. Go to **Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes** 2. Click **Customise** on your active theme 3. Navigate to the page where you want the widget to appear 4. Click **Add block** or **Add section** and look for the **Quizify Result Widget** app block 5. Select it to add it to the page ### Step 3: Enter the Quiz ID 1. With the Result Widget app block selected in the theme editor, find the **Quiz ID** field in the block settings panel 2. Paste the Quiz ID you copied from the Publish tab 3. Save the theme

The widget will not load any results if the Quiz ID field is empty or incorrect. Make sure you are using the ID from the correct quiz.

## Where to Place the Result Widget You can add the Result Widget app block to any page in your Shopify theme — for example: * The **customer account page**, so returning customers always have access to their results when they log in * A **dedicated recommendations page** you create for this purpose # Quiz Flow Source: https://store-docs.quizify.io/getting-started/basic-concepts/quiz-flow Explains how a customer progresses through a Quizify quiz — from the optional Intro Step through questions to the result — and the optional steps you can add to the flow. Quiz flow is the sequence of steps a customer moves through from the moment they start your quiz to the moment they see their product recommendations. Understanding how that sequence works — and what you can add to it — helps you design a quiz experience that feels intentional and converts well. ## The Standard Flow Every Quizify quiz follows the same core structure: **Where to configure this:** In the Quizify admin, open the quiz you want to edit, then use the quiz editor’s **Settings** area to configure quiz-wide options. To change whether the quiz ends on a **Result Page** or a **Thank You Page**, open the quiz’s **Recommendation settings** (the section where recommendation options/types are selected). 1. The customer answers **Question 1** 2. They proceed through each subsequent question in order 3. After the final question, they reach the **result** — either a **Result Page** showing personalised product recommendations, or a **Thank You Page**, depending on how the quiz is configured in the recommendation settings Every quiz always ends with one of these two result types. Which one the customer sees is determined by the recommendation option you select for your quiz — it cannot be turned off. By default, questions appear in the order you arrange them in the quiz editor. The customer moves forward one question at a time and cannot skip ahead. ## Optional Steps in the Flow You can extend the standard flow with additional stages: * **Intro Step** — a landing screen shown before the first question. It can include a heading, descriptive content, and a call-to-action button that starts the quiz. Enabling an Intro Step gives customers context before they begin and encourages them to engage, which can improve quiz completion rates. It can be enabled or disabled in your quiz settings. * **User Information Form** — a lead capture step that collects details such as the customer's name, email address, or phone number. You can position it as either the **first step** in the quiz (before any questions) or the **last step** (after all questions, before the result). The form can also be disabled entirely if you do not need to collect customer information. Neither step is required. You can enable one, both, or neither depending on what your quiz needs to accomplish.

The Intro Step and User Information Form are configured separately within your quiz settings. They do not affect how questions are ordered or how the result is calculated.

## How Conditional Logic Changes the Flow Conditional logic lets you change which question appears next based on a customer's previous answer. Instead of following a fixed sequence, the quiz adapts — routing customers to the questions most relevant to them and skipping those that are not. For example, a customer who selects "oily skin" on Question 1 might skip directly to Question 4, while a customer who selects "dry skin" moves to Question 2.

Conditional logic is covered in detail in the conditional logic documentation. This article covers the default, linear flow.

## How the Quiz Ends Every quiz ends with a result — customers always see one of two things: * **Result Page** — displays personalised product recommendations based on the customer's answers. What products appear depends on the recommendation type configured for your quiz. * **Thank You Page** — a custom end screen configured through your recommendation settings. Use it when you want to direct customers to a specific next action rather than showing product recommendations directly. Which result the customer sees is determined by the recommendation option you choose. Both are permanent — your quiz will always end with one of them. ## How Flow Differs by Recommendation Type Quizify supports different recommendation types, and each one can affect what the Result Page displays and how results are calculated: * Some recommendation types score each answer and surface the products that accumulate the highest score * Others match specific answer combinations to predefined result sets * The path through the questions remains the same regardless of recommendation type — what changes is how the answers are evaluated and what products are shown at the end The recommendation type you choose should align with how your products are logically differentiated. See [recommendation types](/how-recommendations-work) for a full breakdown of each option. # Quiz Responses Source: https://store-docs.quizify.io/getting-started/basic-concepts/quiz-responses Explains what happens when a customer submits a quiz — what data is captured, where it's stored in Quizify, and how it can be exported or sent to integrations. Every time a customer completes your quiz, Quizify records a response — a snapshot of everything that happened during that session. Understanding what gets captured, where it lives, and how it moves through your store helps you make the most of your quiz data. ## What Triggers a Response A response is recorded the moment a customer submits the quiz. Browsing through questions or abandoning partway through does not create a record — only a full submission counts. ## What Data Is Captured Each response includes the following: * **Answers** — the choices the customer selected for each question * **Answer tags** — any tags associated with the selected answers, which drive your recommendation logic * **Recommendation shown** — the product or products displayed to the customer at the end of the quiz * **Timestamp** — the date and time the quiz was submitted * **User info** — name, email, and any other fields from the user info form, if you have that form enabled in your quiz

If your quiz does not include a user info form, or a customer skips it, responses are still recorded. The user info fields will simply be empty for that submission.

## Where to View Responses All captured responses appear in the Submissions section of your Quizify dashboard. Each entry shows the data listed above for a single quiz submission. You can browse individual responses to review what a customer answered and what recommendation they received. ## How Responses Flow to Integrations Response data can be sent automatically to external platforms as soon as a submission is recorded. Quizify supports connections to: * **Email marketing platforms** — pass customer details and answer tags to your email list, enabling targeted follow-up sequences * **Webhooks** — send raw response data to any endpoint you control, allowing you to pipe submissions into your own systems or third-party tools You configure these connections in the [Integrations](/integrations-and-automation) section of the dashboard. Once set up, data flows to your connected platforms on every new submission without any manual action.

Sending answer tags to your email platform lets you segment customers by their quiz results and send more relevant product recommendations in follow-up emails.

## Data Retention and Privacy Quizify stores response data in accordance with applicable privacy regulations. Because your quiz may collect personal information — particularly when the user info form is enabled — you should review your store's privacy policy to ensure it accurately reflects how this data is collected and used. You are responsible for obtaining any necessary consent from customers before collecting their information through your quiz. # Build from a Template Source: https://store-docs.quizify.io/getting-started/first-quiz-creation/build-from-a-template How to browse, select, and customise a pre-built quiz template in Quizify — the fastest way to get a professional quiz live on your Shopify store. Templates are the fastest way to launch a product recommendation quiz in Quizify. Each template comes with a pre-built structure and pre-filled questions, so you start with a solid foundation rather than a blank canvas. Once you select a template, every element — questions, answers, and settings — is fully editable to match your store and products. ## Accessing the Template Library 1. From your Shopify admin, open the **Quizify** app. 2. Click **Create Quiz** in the top right corner of the dashboard. 3. Select **Start from a Template** when prompted to choose how to build your quiz. The template library opens, displaying all available templates organised by category. ## Browsing and Previewing Templates Templates are grouped by industry and use case, making it straightforward to find one suited to your store type. * Use the **category filter** along the top of the library to narrow results by industry (for example, Skincare, Fashion, or Home & Living). * Click any template card to open a preview, which shows the question flow and answer structure you will start with. * To return to the library without selecting, click **Back to Templates**.

Preview a few templates before committing. The question flow in a template is a starting point — but choosing one that already resembles your intended quiz structure saves editing time.

## Selecting a Template 1. In the template preview, click **Use This Template**. 2. Enter a name for your quiz in the **Quiz Name** field. 3. Click **Create Quiz**. Quizify creates a new quiz with the template's pre-filled questions and answers already in place. You are taken directly to the quiz editor.

Selecting a template does not affect any of your existing quizzes. Each use of a template creates a separate, independent quiz.

## Editing Template Questions and Answers The quiz editor gives you full control over every part of the template content. ### Editing Questions 1. In the quiz editor, click the question you want to change. 2. Update the text in the **Question** field. 3. To reorder questions, drag the question card to a new position using the handle on the left. 4. To remove a question, click the **delete icon** on the question card and confirm. 5. To add a new question, click **Add Question** at the bottom of the question list. ### Editing Answers 1. Click the question whose answers you want to edit. 2. Click an answer option to edit its label text. 3. To add a new answer, click **Add Answer** within that question. 4. To remove an answer, click the **delete icon** next to it. ### Editing Quiz Settings 1. Click the **Settings** tab in the quiz editor. 2. Update details such as the quiz title, description, button labels, and result page messaging. 3. Click **Save** to apply your changes. ## Linking Template Answers to Your Products Templates do not include product links — you connect answers to your own products after selecting the template. **Important:** If an answer has no products linked under **Recommended Products**, Quizify may not be able to show a recommendation for that selection. 1. In the quiz editor, click the question whose answers you want to link. 2. Click an answer option to expand its settings. 3. Under **Recommended Products**, click **Add Product**. 4. Search for the product from your Shopify catalogue and select it. 5. Repeat for each answer option across all questions. 6. Click **Save** when you are done.

Each answer can be linked to one or more products. Quizify uses these links to generate personalised product recommendations when a customer completes the quiz.
