# Connecting Mailchimp to Quizify

> Step-by-step guide to connecting Mailchimp to Quizify — entering your API key, selecting the audience/list, and syncing quiz leads with answer tags as Mailchimp contact tags.

Connecting Mailchimp to Quizify lets you automatically add quiz leads to your Mailchimp audience. Every time a customer completes your quiz and provides their email address, they are added to your chosen Mailchimp list — with their answer tags included as contact tags.

## Before You Start

Make sure the following are in place before connecting:

* You have a Mailchimp account with an active audience (list)

* The user information form is enabled on your quiz and includes the email field

* You have access to your Mailchimp API key (instructions below)

## Step 1: Find the Mailchimp Integration in Quizify

1. Open Quizify from your Shopify admin

2. Go to **Integrations** in the main navigation

3. Find **Mailchimp** in the list of available integrations

4. Click **Connect** or **Set Up**

## Step 2: Get Your Mailchimp API Key

1. Log in to your Mailchimp account

2. Click your profile name in the bottom-left corner and select **Profile**

3. Go to the **Extras** menu and select **API keys**

4. Click **Create A Key** to generate a new API key

5. Copy the key — you will need it in the next step

## Step 3: Enter the API Key in Quizify

1. Paste your Mailchimp API key into the API key field in the Quizify Mailchimp integration settings

2. Click **Connect** or **Verify**

3. Quizify will validate the key and load your Mailchimp audiences

## Step 4: Select Your Mailchimp Audience

Once connected, select the Mailchimp audience (list) you want quiz leads added to. If you have multiple audiences, choose the one that corresponds to your quiz marketing list.

## Step 5: Save and Test

1. Save your integration settings

2. Complete a test run of your quiz using a real or test email address

3. Check your Mailchimp audience to confirm the contact was added

4. Verify that any answer tags from the quiz appear as tags on the Mailchimp contact

## How Answer Tags Appear in Mailchimp

When Quizify syncs a contact to Mailchimp, the answer tags collected from the customer's selected answers are added to the contact as **Mailchimp contact tags**. These tags appear in the contact's profile under Tags.

You can use these tags to:

* Segment your audience by quiz outcome

* Trigger tag-based automations

* Filter contacts for targeted campaigns
